Steph Curry left Game 1 against the Rockets with an ankle injury, but will he miss Game 2?

There might not be a more devastating nightmare for Warriors fans than the idea of Steph Curry going down with an injury. He lasted all season long as the Dubs won a record 73-games, and to have him fall apart once the season actually started to matter for Golden State would be the worst thing in the world.

We saw it happen to Derrick Rose and the Bulls back in 2011-2 and basketball in general would just be terrible if this happened to Curry. That fear was at least theoretically realized on Saturday when Steph left Game 1 against the Rockets with an ankle injury.

To be clear, Steph was back on the bench for most of the game and finished the first-half with 24-points, but he was pretty much useless beyond that.

Of course, Steph could probably sit out Game 2 and the Warriors would still be fine. The last thing that the Dubs need is for Curry to be lost to an injury, as that would make this incredible — and historic — season a complete and utter wash. It would go down as one of the biggest sports tragedies ever, epitomizing a missed opportunity.

Resting Steph for the rest of this series would actually make sense, even if it wouldn’t ever happen. Still, this was the first time all season long that we’ve felt even a shiver of nervousness for the Dubs as their 74th win of the season was without a doubt the most emotionally taxing.
