Andy Green. 4. player. 127. . Manager. San Diego Padres

The only reason that Green is not ranked higher on this list amongst those MLB managers that could be looking for jobs is because no one expected him to be doing great things in his first season as a MLB manger.

Green spent just one season as a coach in the MLB (manning the third base coach spot for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2015) following a few seasons coaching and managing in the minors. When he was hired by San Diego to be the next manager of the two time National League champs, people were scratching their heads wondering what the heck was going on.

Statistically, the Padres are batting 17th in the MLB (10th in the National League) and are 23rd in pitching (also 10th in the NL). The woes for the 4-9 Padres included setting a MLB record by not scoring a run in their first three games (being outscored 25-0) and have been shut out in two games since.

While much wasn’t expected to start the season, Green may be a one and done manager in the MLB if he can’t at least prove he knows a little bit about what it takes to be the boss of a big league club.
