In 2015, the first year manager and Baseball Hall of Famer was able to get the Twins to a winning record and surprised many who wondered if the legend was going to be able to hang with other more experiences field generals in the MLB.

The honeymoon seems to be over for Molitor and the Twins, who were just like the Atlanta Braves and entered the weekend 0-9 before getting a sweep to know what wins look like in the standings. It isn’t just about wins and losses with this year’s Minnesota team…they are not good at all at the plate.

This season, the Twins are dead last in all of the MLB (and the American League, obviously) in batting…completely throwing their pitching staff under the bus. For their part, the Twins’ staff is ninth in all of the MLB (and fourth in the AL), but it doesn’t do any good when you are scoring two runs or less in seven of the first 12 games this season.

It’s hard to get rid of a legend (especially one who grew up in the state of Minnesota), but continued play like this might mean it has to be done.
