player. 59.
Miami’s cornerback situation might be the worst in the NFL right now. The addition of Byron Maxwell helps (in theory) but Brent Grimes is not walking through the door for the Dolphins, and if this team has any designs on making a playoff run in 2016, this is a spot where they absolutely must upgrade.

Vernon Hargreaves III is seen by many (including Todd McShay) as the best pure cover cornerback in the entire draft class, even if he ranks solidly behind Florida State’s Jalen Ramsey in an overall sense. Hargreaves III stood out in a big way during his time in Gainesville, and his pure cover skills are impressive when combined with his athleticism and nose for the ball.

The tape late in his final college season, most specifically against Michigan in the bowl game, was not always ideal, but Hargreaves III would be a home run get for the Dolphins. Miami probably should continue to search for additional cornerback help on the veteran free agent market, but when it comes to plugging a hole, this would be a nice option for a team that needs one badly.

If not Hargreaves III (or another cornerback), the Dolphins could invest in the offensive line or simply a “best player available” choice, but boy, that would be aggressive given their current roster.
. CB. Florida. Vernon Hargreaves III. 13
