52.
The Jaguars are in a much better roster situation than they have been in previous seasons, and that has to be stated up front. Jacksonville has been a disaster for a long time, but the organization added two big-time free agents in Malik Jackson and Tashaun Gipson this off-season, and that came after a significant investment prior to the 2015 campaign.

However, the Jaguars aren’t quite at the level where they should be picking for need and need alone. If they choose to do just that, Jacksonville would probably end up with UCLA linebacker Myles Jack, and there is nothing wrong with that, as I view Jack as an elite prospect at the position. Still, there is a better player available in the mind of McShay and the Jags shouldn’t pass on him.

Jalen Ramsey is an intriguing prospect in that no one can agree on the position that he’ll play at the next level. If Jacksonville views him as a safety, they’ll probably pass on the former FSU star, simply because they added Gipson to play free safety at a hefty price tag. If Ramsey is a cornerback, though, this pick makes a ton of sense, and his versatility can and will be valuable in the future.

I am a firm believer in Ramsey as a Pro Bowl player somewhere in the next few years, and the Jaguars shouldn’t be picky for positional value.
.
