TE. Missouri. Kellen Winslow. 4. player. 13.

Kellen Winslow really helped opened up coaches eyes to see what this tight end position could be. This position is not just for big players who can sometimes catch the ball. Winslow helped coaches realize that this position can be played by a big, athletic superstar that is consistently involved in the offensive schemes.

Winslow, out of the University of Missouri, was drafted in the first round of the 1979 draft. He had almost an immediate impact after he went to San Diego. Three out of his first four seasons there he appeared in the pro bowl. He had 541 catches, 45 touchdowns and 6,741 total yards in his career. His son has also been a great tight end in the league.

Although he had a relatively short career at only nine years, he still had a great impact on this team and on the entire league. He set the standard for what a modern tight end should look like. He was big, athletic, strong and, more importantly, he could catch the ball with some of the best in the league.
