Every NFL team’s best draft pick of all-time

Buffalo Bills – Andre Reed (No. 86 pick, 1985)
For the Millennials among us, the Buffalo Bills have been something of a punchline for the next several years. However, the Bills were a model franchise in the 1990’s when they were making their way to four consecutive Super Bowl appearances, and that sustained period of success was, at least in part, created by quality value drafting.
Thurman Thomas (40th overall pick) and Jim Kelly were unearthed in value spots, and even the decision to draft Bruce Smith was met with some skepticism from the outside world at the time. Alas, the best value came when the organization tabbed Andre Reed with the number 86 pick in the 1985 draft.
Reed was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014, and that came on the heels of an electrifying career. His career-long numbers look more pedestrian than you may think given the pass-happy nature of today’s NFL, but Reed was a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and he compiled 87 touchdown catches to go along with more than 13,000 receiving yards in his career.
Andre Reed is perpetually underrated because of the talent around him in Buffalo, but this was a heist in the fourth round.
