3. Jered Weaver-Los Angles Angels

Once considered af fantasy baseball elite option, Weaver has had a rough few years and is now owned in only 6.4% of ESPN fantasy leagues. He’s a solid one-start option today, though, as he and the Angels take on the White Sox this afternoon.

Weaver started the season with an impressive outing against the Rangers allowing just one run in six innings to get the win, but he struggled in his last start getting knocked around for four runs on eight hits in just 4.1 innings. Those two starts represent the wide range of “boom-or-bust” possibilities today, but I think Weaver will bounce back with a good performance.

One of the reason I like Weaver today is that he has pitched well against the White Sox lately.  Last year, he pitched 6.1 shutout innings against them the only time he faced them, and tonight he’ll be opposed by John Danks who has been shelled this season and comes in with a scary 7.94 ERA to go with his 0-2 record.
