1. Marco Estrada-Toronto Blue Jays

Estrada makes his first start against a team that isn’t the Boston Red Sox tonight as he and the Blue Jays wrap up their series in Baltimore.  Estrada will take on Chris Tillman tonight, but I think he’s got a solid shot at beating the Orioles’ Opening Day starter.

Last year, Estrada made six appearances agains the Orioles including four stars.  He ended up 2-1 against Baltimore with a 3.42 ERA and 19 strikeouts in his 26.1 innings.  He has started the season with mixed results dominating Boston in Toronto in his first game of the season, but allowing a home run to Xander Bogaerts that proved to be his undoing in his second start when he allowed four runs on eight hits in six innings.

His 2.77 ERA and 1.23 WHIP are solid coming into his third start of the season tonight, and he’ll have the backing of the Blue Jays potent lineup in Baltimore. He doesn’t have quite the strikeout upside of Rich Hill, but he is lower risk and has a pretty good shot at a win tonight in Baltimore even though the O’s are off to a great start.
