2. Eric Dickerson

When people think of Eric Dickerson, they think of the greatest single-season rushing total in NFL history. In 1984, Dickerson rushed for an incredible 2,105 yards, a record that still stands today. His record has stood the test of time, and although many running backs have gotten close to touching it, no one has been able to take it down.

Dickerson was more than just a record maker, he was a Hall of Fame running back that could put the team on his back and carry them to victories game in and game out. As a rookie, Dickerson had 1,808 yards and instantly became a superstar in the league.

He was only in Los Angeles four seasons, but the team was a Super Bowl contender in all of them. In 1985, the Rams reached the NFC Championship game, one of the high points of Dickerson’s career with the Rams.

It’s very rare that a player has such an impact on a franchise in a short amount of time, but Dickerson was one of those players that really set the league on fire. He would go on to be enshrined in the Hall of Fame in Canton, and the Rams retired his No. 29 jersey.

There have been many other great running backs in the game, but no one that put up the numbers like Dickerson did in a such a span.
