4. Josh Tomlin-Cleveland
Tomlin and the Tribe take on Detroit tonight in just his second start of the season. He looked good in his first outing against the Mets before leaving with a right hamstring cramp.
He should still be able to make his start today, though, and will look to pick up where he left off in his first outing. He allowed just one run in that start on four hits while walking none and striking out six.
Last year, Tomlin started one game against the Tigers and pitched a complete game allowing just one run on four hits while striking out six. I doubt he’ll duplicate that performance tonight in Detroit, but it definitely isn’t a matchup to run from given his past success against them. Coming into tonight’s start, Tomlin is only owned in just 4.4% of ESPN leagues, and I think he is a flier to take a shot on if you are looking for solid start and can afford some risk.
