High Value SF

Al-Farouq Aminu-Portland Trail Blazers (5,100): Aminu fell just one point short of his second straight double-double against his former team, the Clippers, in Game 2. Aminu had ten points and twelve boards in Game 1 on his way to 33 fantasy points and followed that up with 29.5 fantasy points in Game 2.  Tonight, the Blazers need him to step up and produce a little bit more on the offensive end if they want to keep up with LA, and since he’ll be coming home to Portland I think he’ll have a nice stat line tonight.  Aminu is lower risk than the other mid-range SF since he does produce in a variety of other categories as well as his scoring.

Joe Johnson-Miami Heat (4,400): Johnson has been relatively quiet in the playoffs so far with just 23 and 14.5 fantasy points in his first two games against the Hornets.  With Nicolas Batum out, though, things should open up a bit for Johnson, and he should find some room to get his production.  He doesn’t have a super-high ceiling, but he did run off a string of five games with at least 20 fantasy points in his last seven contests before his disappointing 14.5 fantasy points in Game 2.

Justin Anderson-Dallas Mavericks (3,800): Anderson has 12 points in Game 3 against Dallas and turned in his second consecutive game with exactly 17.25 fantasy points. Anderson is getting a little more run as the Mavs scramble to cover for injuries, and he has shown he has the potential to produce.  If you have to go cheap at SF to cover your other expenses, Anderson is the first name I would look for.

Justise Winslow-Miami Heat (3,500): Another cheap play to consider is Justise Winslow who logs a ton of minutes and can get you some solid fantasy production on some nights. He had 16.5 fantasy points and 17.5 fantasy points in Game 1 and Game 2, but the best part of investing in Winslow is that regardless of game situation you know he’ll be getting the playing time.  He isn’t flashy and exceptional in any one category yet in his young NBA career but he does grind out solid fantasy point totals.
