2. Hector Santiago-Los Angeles Angels

Santiago was a regular in my fantasy baseball streaming pitchers feature last season, and he’s gotten off to a red-hot start this year as well with his sinker ball doing wonders.  He’s still only owned in 27% of ESPN leagues and is a great option for today as he and the Angels host the Mariners.

In each of his three starts, Santiago has gone at least six innings totaling 20.2 innings in his three outings and allowing a total of six earned runs for a 2.61 ERA. He was especially effective in his last outing striking out ten White Sox and allowing just two hits in seven shutout innings to improve to 1-0 on the season.

Santiago will take on King Felix and the Mariners tonight which is the only reason he isn’t number one on the list since getting a win could be tough if Hernandez is on the top of his game.  Last year, though, it was Santiago who dominated Seattle allowing just two runs in 14 innings against the Mariners and going 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA and 13 K’s in those 14 innings.
