Bryce Harper made baseball fun again for Nationals by hitting a pinch hit game tying home run on what was supposed to be an off day.

Bryce Harper was scheduled to have an off day on Sunday when the Washington Nationals faced the Minnesota Twins at Nationals Park in Washington DC. However, a super hero like the 2015 National League Most Valuable Player doesn’t always get days off. Trailing 4-3 going into the ninth inning, Nationals manager Dusty Baker decided to put the game in the hands of his best hitter to start off the inning as Harper made an appearance as a pinch hitter. The outcome was just as expected: a tie game.

Nationals fans have come to expect greatness from Harper, yet he still keeps performing to his lofty expectations. Harper currently leads the National League with nine home runs and 22 RBIs. While his batting average might be “down” to .311 from .330 last season, his OPS is actually better (1.201 this year compared to 1.109 last season). He’s in an excellent position to defend his MVP award and if anyone can pull it off, it’s Harper. Because that’s what he does.
