NHL Rumors: Vincent Lecavalier to retire?

Is Vincent Lecavalier retiring?
Back in January, the Los Angeles Kings were looking for some bottom six forward depth and an extra defenseman to sure up their attack as they pushed towards another Stanley Cup run. They did just that in acquiring Vincent Lecavalier and Luke Schenn from the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Kings earlier this week were eliminated by the San Jose Sharks in five games during their first round matchup in the playoffs. Now, it appears that final game may also be the final game of Lecavalier’s career.
Lecavalier had a outstanding career. He was the number one overall pick in the 1998 entry draft, and topped 40 goals twice and 50 goals once during his career. He amassed 421 goals and 949 points. His best season came back in 2006-07 when he won the Maurice Richard award and scored 108 points.
Lecavalier was a big part of the 2003-04 Stanley Cup winning Tampa Bay Lightning, scoring 66 points during the season and adding 16 points during the Lightning run to the cup.
He made four All-Star teams during his time with Tampa. He left via free agency before the 2013-14 season and fought various injuries throughout his time there, before being dealt to the Kings earlier this season.
Lecavalier scored 17 points in 42 games with the Kings and added a goal and an assist during their playoff series. He would finish 94th all time in points, one ahead of Hall of Fame defenseman Chris Chelios.
Look for Toronto to come calling soon enough and Lecavalier to enter the Hall of Fame. Congrats to Vincent on a great career.
