Brad Nessler is very well equipped to take over for Tirico in the Monday Night Football booth. Nessler has called NFL games as recently as 2013 when he was doing Thursday Night Football games for the NFL Network.

With ESPN, Nessler mostly does college football and college basketball, but his recent NFL experience makes him one of the best ESPN has to offer in the booth should they decide to promote from within to replace the departing Tirico.

Nessler is only 59 years old, so he could be the Monday Night Football play-by-play guy for a long-time with Gruden if this pairing does come to fruition. Keep in mind that Nessler did Monday Night Football from 2006 to 2011 before going to the NFL Network to do Thursday Night Football.

In a similar situation with Tessitore, Nessler is immensely valuable in calling one of college football’s best games weekly, so replacing him on that front to do Monday Night Football would certainly be an ordeal. That being said, Nessler is uniquely qualified to replace Tirico if need be.
