Fantasy baseball streaming pitchers: April 25, 2016
1. Rick Porcello-Boston Red Sox
Porcello comes into tonight’s start with an unbeaten 3-0 record despite a 4.66 ERA, but a favorable matchup and some solid numbers make him worth considering as my top pick from today’s fantasy baseball streaming pitchers.
Porcello has allowed three runs or more in each of his starts, but he has struck out at least seven as well and has a very nice 0.93 WHIP which would seem to indicate that his ERA will settle down if he continues to hold opponents to just a .205 batting average. He has picked up 24 K’s in his 19 innings so far this season and has been especially effective in his last two outings when he has had Christian Vazquez behind the plate as his battery-mate.
Porcello is only owned in 25% of ESPN leagues coming into play today, and he makes a great pickup as he faces the Braves who have gotten off to a very slow start to the season. Even though he faces the Braves “ace” in Julio Teheran, he should be able to get another win if he pitches well since Teheran is 0-2 with a 5.64 ERA and the Braves are just 1-10 at Turner Field.
