Ole Miss. Laquon Treadwell. 7. player. 42.
Yep, you read that right.

Laquon Treadwell has not been discussed as a top-seven pick for some time now, as many in the NFL Draft punditry have dropped the former Ole Miss star on the heels of an ugly 40-yard dash. Let me say this loud and clear.

I. Do. Not. Care. About. Laquon. Treadwell’s. 40. Yard. Dash. Time.

It is really as simple as that. Treadwell has been the top wide receiver in this class throughout the entire process, and while I understand the concern (at least to an extent) about his explosiveness, he is the complete package in my mind. Treadwell is a strong, physically gifted receiver with great hands, and he is one of the best receivers in this class when it comes to running after the catch. Perhaps my favorite comparison for Treadwell is to Anquan Boldin, and if you ask yourself if Boldin would have been “worth” the seventh overall pick, the answer is pretty clear.

To be fair, San Francisco would really like to get a quarterback of the future here, and they should probably try to move down if they want Treadwell at a value. Still, he is the best player available in terms of a scheme fit (sorry, DeForest Buckner) and the 49ers shouldn’t run away because of a drill that Treadwell executed in shorts.
. WR
