Every NFL team’s biggest draft whiff of all time

Denver Broncos – Marcus Nash (No. 30 pick, 1998)
In case you were wondering, I was quite tempted to pick Tim Tebow here. The kicker with Tebow, though, is that he captained the Broncos to a playoff victory, and that is (much) more than can be said about many first-round quarterback investments. We’ll just agree that Tebow was a wild reach by the organization and move on from there.
Marcus Nash, though, was a flat-out bust. To be fair, Nash wasn’t a huge investment as the 30th overall pick, but that doesn’t make his numbers any better. Nash appeared in only 10 games over two seasons with Denver before being traded to the Baltimore Ravens. In those 10 performances (one start), Nash caught only four passes for a total of 76 yards and, as a first round pick (!), he failed to generate a single touchdown at the NFL level.
By the standards of this list, this wasn’t a damaging draft investment on the level of Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch or others, but Marcus Nash was about as unproductive as any healthy first round pick has ever been.
