Every NFL team’s biggest draft whiff of all time

Minnesota Vikings – Troy Williamson (No. 7 pick, 2005)
If things had gone a little better, Troy Williamson could still be playing in the NFL at the age of 32. As it was, the former South Carolina wide receiver lasted only five seasons (and 49 games) in the league after going seventh overall in the 2005 draft.
The Vikings were looking to replace Randy Moss when they picked up Williamson, but it didn’t quite work out as they has hoped. Williamson started only 22 of the 39 games that he played in Minnesota, producing less than 1,100 receiving yards and only four touchdowns over that time period.
Minnesota was widely panned at the time for reaching on the Williamson pick and, in this case, the skeptics were proven right. His closest competition for this honor is probably Christian Ponder (another wild reach into the first round), but given that Ponder led the team to a 10-win season and is still bopping around the league, Williamson gets the close nod.
