4. Brandon Marshall, Wide Receiver (Round 4, Pick 119, 2006)

It’s always interesting to talk about draft picks that went on to have great careers with teams other than the one that drafted them. That’s not wholly the case with wide receiver Brandon Marshall, but after being selected by the Broncos in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft, the best moments of his career came after he left.

Marshall showed tremendous ability for the Broncos over his four seasons spent with the team. He had a record-breaking single-game performance with 18 receptions in one game and caught 25 touchdowns over the course of those four seasons. He was traded to the Miami Dolphins after the 2009 season, clearly unhappy with the Broncos organization. But he’d already shown his talent and things only got better from that point for the talented receiver.

Sure, Marshall would go onto bigger things after he left the Broncos, and he has had a ton of success outside of Denver. However, it speaks to the Broncos’ ability as a front office to identify talent that they selected Marshall as a fourth round pick out of Central Florida.
