Denver Broncos: 7-round 2016 NFL mock draft
Round 3—Scooby Wright III, LB, Arizona
The Broncos could certainly use some help behind the defensive line at inside linebacker, at the very least adding solid depth there. With the first of their two picks at Round 3, they should have the opportunity to pick a player who fills that void, but also has star potential in Scooby Wright III.
Though his junior season was marred by injuries before he decided to turn pro, Wright showed in his college career that he’s an elite ball hawk with instincts that are purely un-teachable. While it’s concerns about his ability in coverage and to play in an NFL scheme that cause him to drop, Wright has Round 1 traits in his game and he’d be a steal for the Broncos.
Kenyan Drake, RB, Alabama
Especially considering that they might be starting 2016 with Mark Sanchez at quarterback, Denver should be concerned about doing everything possible to make their rushing attack the best it can be. Considering the inconsistency and relative unreliability of Ronnie Hillman and even C.J. Anderson, adding another high-upside player at the position wouldn’t be a bad idea at all. In that light and with that type of player in mind, Derrick Henry’s backup in Kenyan Drake should be on their board here as he could tear it up for the Broncos if he reaches his potential.
