Round 7—Spencer Drango, OG, Baylor

One player who isn’t rated by most nearly as highly as I feel he should be as a whole his former Baylor Bears offensive lineman Spencer Drango. He showed time and again in Baylor’s offense that he was an effective blocker and that he can really control opposing players.

While he played as a tackle in college, he’s likely to move to guard in the NFL, thought that’s obviously the prerogative of the team that drafts him Regardless, if he can be coached in a more pro-style system coming out of Baylor, he has all the physical tools and mental acuity to make it as an NFL offensive lineman.

Darion Griswold, TE, Arkansas State

With Owen Daniels finally parting ways with Gary Kubiak (ending the league’s most storied and underrate player-coach bromance), Denver signed another former Houston tight end in Garrett Graham. However, I’d like to see Denver potentially take a high-upside tight end with the last pick in the draft. That guy would be Darion Griswold out of the Sun Belt’s Arkansas State.

Griswold is a former quarterback with a massive frame that could really allow him to make an impact in the NFL. He still needs work with technique as a blocker and pass-catcher, but taking him and letting him work behind Graham is an intriguing notion for the Broncos to wrap up their draft.
