High Salary SG

James Harden-Houston Rockets (11,100): Harden isn’t a player I’m a huge fan of due to his lack of effort on the defensive end and his dominance of the ball on the offensive end.  However, his potential for production for fantasy basketball is just bananas enough to overlook that and drop the 11+ on buying into “The Beard” tonight in Game 5.  Harden has played at least 40 minutes in each of Houston’s last three games and posted over 55 fantasy points in each of his last two.  He got to 56.25 fantasy points in Game 4 even though he only managed 18 points by filling up the stat sheet with seven rebounds, seven steals, and ten assists.  Harden and the Rockets don’t seem to care very much about the end of their season, but I still think Harden will turn in good fantasy numbers on his way to what shapes up to be a very uncertain offseason in Houston.

Klay Thompson-Golden State Warriors (7,900): Thompson will need to step up for Golden State while Curry is out and has proven he can fill up the score sheet when called upon.  Thompson had 40 fantasy points in Game 4 and only had to play 31 minutes since the Warriors ran away from the Rockets in the third quarter.  He had 46.75 fantasy points in Game 2 when he had to step up in place of Steph, and I expect a similar performance from him tonight making him a really good play at this price.

Dwyane Wade-Miami Heat (7,500): Wade had a double-double in Miami’s Game 4 loss making up for his woeful shooting and 12 points by adding in ten assists and seven rebounds for 39.25 fantasy points. He has at least 30 fantasy points in three of the four games in this series and posted 48.75 fantasy points in the last matchup in Miami.  He’ll need to have another big game tonight to make sure the Heat stay in control of the series, and I think he’ll realize the importance of the game and step up big.
