Los Angeles Dodgers- Chris Anderson to the Atlanta Braves for Jason Grilli

The Dodgers and Braves were bedfellows last year in the massive three team deal at the trade deadline and there is no reason that they can’t make another deal. The Dodgers bullpen needs help. They have a few pitchers who are injured right now, and its possible that those pitchers can help, but why not add to it.

Grilli can help late in games and be an upgrade over Chris Hatcher in setting up for Kenley Jansen. The Dodgers tried to get Arolids Chapman in the off-season and they know it’s an area that they need help in. The Dodgers have enough pitching prospect depth where they can stand to trade a prospect and still be okay in their depth.

Anderson may be a starter or a reliever (his fastball can touch 97 MPH, it’s just a question of whether or not he can sustain it over the length of a game.) Anderson hasn’t put up great numbers over the past couple of years and it may just be that Anderson should pitch out of the bullpen. This fits in with how the Braves are rebuilding.
