2016 NFL mock draft: Final edition
A’Shawn Robinson, DT, Alabama
The Washington Redskins narrowed their focus last week when they spent $75 million on cornerback Josh Norman. With that position taken care of in a huge – and very expensive – way, the Redskins can now look at helping out the front seven. Washington lost nose tackle Terrance Knighton and needs to get better on the defensive line if it wants Norman to be an impact signing.
With A’Shawn Robinson on the board, the Redskins would be crazy to pass up this opportunity. Robinson is built like a truck with two legs and can play either the end or nose tackle if he puts on another 10-15 pounds. He would be a great piece to work with, allowing the Redskins to play a litany of fronts and schemes.
Offensively, the Redskins don’t have any huge needs that must be addressed in the first round. Washington has ample playmakers on the outside and a quality quarterback in Kirk Cousins. The defense has to continually be upgraded or the Redskins will have a very hard time winning the NFC East again with the New York Giants being vastly improved and the Dallas Cowboys presumably getting healthier for 2016.
