2016 NFL mock draft: Final edition
Josh Doctson, WR, TCU
The Cincinnati Bengals had a rough offseason in many ways. After reaching the playoffs for the fifth consecutive year (and losing in the first round for the fifth time), the Bengals watched as the team was taken apart. Reggie Nelson, Marvin Jones, Mohamed Sanu and Vincent Rey left in free agency, leaving Cincinnati with ample voids. However, none are more pressing than wide receiver, with the Bengals desperately needing a running mate for A.J. Green.
Cincinnati is sitting on the back end of what many believe will be a late-first round run on receivers. Luckily, Cincinnati is able to scoop up Josh Doctson, a lanky speedster out of TCU. Doctson would be a perfect complement to Green with good size and elite speed, giving quarterback Andy Dalton another deep threat.
It is hard to see the Bengals going in any other direction here, barring a superstar prospect falling to this juncture. Cincinnati has to upgrade the weapons on the outside after losing Jones and Sanu and with Doctson on the board, it is an easy choice. Perhaps the Bengals trade back from here as well, with none of the teams behind them likely to take a receiver until the Carolina Panthers get on the clock.
