2016 NFL mock draft: Final edition
Myles Jack, ILB, UCLA
The Baltimore Ravens have been one of the smartest teams in the NFL over the past 15 years. General manager Ozzie Newsome has shown the ability to build a contender on the fly, even with the albatross known as Joe Flacco’s contract hanging around his neck.
Last year, Baltimore sustained a ridiculous amount of injuries, watching Flacco, Justin Forsett, Steve Smith, Eugene Monroe, Chris Canty and Terrell Suggs land on injured reserve. The Ravens are not nearly as bad as their 5-11 record would suggest, so this is a rare opportunity for this team to get a marquee player in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Landing Myles Jack at this spot would be a huge get. Jack is coming back from a serious knee injury but he is perhaps the most gifted player in the draft. He can rush the quarterback off the edge, jump on the inside and play heads up against the run and perhaps most impressively, drop into coverage and take care of a running back or tight end. He would be a great replacement for Daryl Smith and be able to fill in for Suggs or Elvis Dumervil when they need a rest.
