Fantasy baseball streaming pitchers: April 28, 2016
1. Tanner Roark-Washington Nationals (25.0%)
Roark was outstanding on Saturday as he dominated the Minnesota Twins to even his record at 2-2 for the season. He only allowed two hits and three walks in his seven shutout innings in that start while striking out a career-high 15 batters.
While I don’t expect a repeat performance today since he has just nine strikeouts in his previous 17 innings, I think he’s the top option to consider among the available fantasy baseball streaming pitchers. He also had a great game earlier this season against the Braves, so it’s obvious he can shut down weaker offenses when he’s on his game.
This afternoon, Roark will get another good matchup as he faces the Phillies who have gotten off to one of the worst starts in the Majors. Roark enters the game today with good splits for day games over the last three seasons especially when pitching at Nationals Park where he’ll toe the rubber this afternoon. Roark isn’t as strong a streaming option as my last few days #1 options have been (Rich Hill, Steven Wright), but he is the best option on today’s somewhat limited slate.
