AFC East
Buffalo Bills: A
Buffalo got a ton of value and talent in the draft, namely with its first two selections. Shaq Lawson is perfect in Rex Ryan’s defense because of his pass-rushing skills and versatility. Reggie Ragland is also a downhill thumper who will start from the jump. Cardale Jones is also a quality project who could pay off down the road.
Miami Dolphins: A-
Miami got an insane amount of value when Laremy Tunsil slid to No. 13. Xavien Howard also projects as an immediate starter, while Kenyon Drake has a good chance to earn major carries in his rookie campaign. The sleeper here is Leonte Carroo, who was a productive receiver at Rutgers. He could turn into a nice complement for Jarvis Landry.
New England Patriots: C-
It’s hard to have a great draft without a first-round pick, and Bill Belichick couldn’t change that. The Patriots didn’t seem to land anybody who could make an immediate impact, although Malcolm Mitchell is a nice selection. Cyrus Jones will have a chance to compete opposite Malcolm Butler, but it is tough to see much production coming from this group in 2016.
New York Jets: C+
This grade would have been higher except for the atrocious pick of Christian Hackenberg. Yes, New York needs a quarterback, but Hackenberg was terrible at Penn State for his entire career. Darron Lee is a very nice fit and New York was smart to double down at a position of need, taking outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins in the third round.
