player. 47.
With the final pick in this mock, I’m calling my shot.

Lorenzo Carter is finally going to realize his potential.

Carter was seen by many as the top overall prospect in the country coming out of high school, but over the course of two years in Athens, he has been underwhelming from a production standpoint. In fact, Carter actually lost considerable playing time during the 2015 season, even as he was clearly the best physical prospect at his position for the Bulldogs.

2016 will be a huge year for his development, though, and with Kirby Smart back on board, the ceiling is immense for Carter. He is obscenely fast for his size (6-foot-5 and 242 pounds) and Carter presents the profile of a player that could be a terror on the edge in a 3-4 scheme or simply a roving monster at outside linebacker in a 4-3 formation.

Trust me, this is a projection rather than an assessment of where he actually is right now. All reports are positive coming out of Athens in anticipation of what Carter could do in 2016 (and beyond), but we have to see it. If not, he certainly won’t be a first round pick and, most likely, Carter will be forced to play a fourth season in the SEC.
. LB. Georgia. Lorenzo Carter. 32
