NFC South

Atlanta Falcons

Desmond Trufant, CB (Option Accepted) – If there was ever a match made in heaven, it would be between Trufant and head coach Dan Quinn. At $8 million for the 2017 season, Quinn would have probably paid that out of his salary to keep the star corner in Georgia.

Carolina Panthers

Star Lotulelei, DT (Option Accepted) – The big man in the middle will continue to create holes on the line for the NFC Champions while the front office figures out what to do with other players around him.

New Orleans Saints

Kenny Vaccaro, S (Option Accepted) – When you had the worst pass defense in the NFL last season, it makes a lot of sense to pick up a big money option on one of the players from that segment of the team. The Saints are in the mindset that you can’t do much better right now than what you have, so there is no sense in completely rocking the boat. Another statistical season like 2015 and Vaccaro won’t have to worry about 2017 because he won’t be with the team.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

No first round pick in 2013 NFL Draft
