112. . Pacific Division. Western Conference. Calgary Flames. 1. player

Yes, the Calgary Flames have the most attractive head coaching vacancy in the NHL. While the Flames finished towards the bottom of the standings in 2015-2016, they are an extremely talented team. Any coach would love to have the opportunity to coach such players as Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan, Sam Bennet, Joe Colborne, Michael Frolik, Mikael Granlund, Mark Giordano, Dougie Hamilton, and T.J. Brodie. That’s a ultra talented core of NHL players and one that could easily make the playoffs as soon as next season.

Calgary has shown that they are willing to pay the big bucks to get the best coaches. It doesn’t always work out for them, but that gives them the best chance possible to get an elite head coach in Bruce Boudreau.

Most Logical Candidate: Bruce Boudreau. Every NHL team that needs a head coach will be courting Boudreau, trying to convince them to be their head coach. Calgary definitely has the best situation and the best roster available. Boudreau would be such a perfect fit for Calgary. It’s the one team that would allow him to run the high tempo offense that he loves to run. Boudreau will, however, likely demand that Calgary agrees to fix their goaltending situation in exchange for being their head coach. And understandably so, considering how Boudreau has been cursed by mediocre goaltending in the playoffs.
