3. Boston rebuilt their team in the right manner

A few years ago, Boston decided it was time to essentially blow their team up. Allen went to the Heat, Pierce, Garnett, and Jason Terry went to the Nets, and head coach Doc Rivers went to the Clippers. Boston two seasons ago shipped point guard Rajon Rondo to the Dallas Mavericks for Jae Crowder and a great first round pick.

Boston went from great to rebuilding and back to good in a matter of four years. The team played hard even with a roster of so-so player the last few years and Boston should be rewarding for how they conducted themselves in their brief rebuilding process.

The Celtics didn’t shamelessly tank like many other teams in the NBA have done in recent years. Their methodology in acquiring picks and interesting trade assets have even made the Celtics surprisingly competitive for a team that truly lacks a star player.

The way that Boston and frankly the Utah Jazz rebuilt should be praised in an era where the Philadelphia 76ers destroyed their club for percentage points in winning a lottery and whatever we want to classify what Billy King did with Mikhail Prokorov’s Nets.

Not that ping pong balls bounce in favor of teams with good karmic tendencies, but if any team seems to have the good vibes with them entering the 2016 NBA Draft Lottery, it should be the Celtics. Plus, wouldn’t it be hilarious to see the Celtics get the No. 1 overall pick thanks to a bad trade made by the Nets a few years ago?
