Look, the Phoenix Suns have three first round picks in this draft and it’s go big or go home time for this franchise. They have solid pieces in place with Eric Bledsoe, Tyson Chandler, Alex Len, T.J. Warren and superstar-in-the-making Devin Booker, so why not take another home run swing at a guy like Chriss?

He’s one of the younger players in the draft at 18 years old, but the 6-9 forward jumped onto draft boards after a semi-breakout year for the Washington Huskies. Chriss started all 34 games for the Huskies, posting 13.8 points and 5.4 rebounds on the season, but he crept into most people’s minds via stunning highlights of his ferocious dunks and blocks. He can shoot the ball a little bit, as evidenced by his 35 percent clip (only 60 attempts) from distance. But in the words of Fran Fraschilla, this one could be “two years away from being two years away.” There’s plenty for Chriss to work on, including defensive effort and awareness along with ball handling — he boasted a turnover rate of 14.7 last year.

Even given all the work that needs to be done, potentially landing a two-way impact, stretch four is tantalizing for most front offices. His potential to reach that pinnacle could be enough for Phoenix at No. 13.

To read more about Marquese Chriss, <a href=. PF. Washington. Marquese Chriss. 13. player. 66
