SG. Florida State. Malik Beasley. 24. player. 93. Earlier in this draft Philly selected Brandon Ingram No. 1 overall to help shore up their shooting and now they have the opportunity to select another stellar floor spacer in Malik Beasley. The 6-5 guard is another one-and-done player out of Florida State who showed explosive scoring ability, especially in the open court.

Beasley is really impressive as a catch-and-shoot prospect knocking down 3-pointers at almost a 39 percent (4.2 attempts) clip as a freshman. The Sixers need to acquired as much talent as possible, and fast. Nik Stauskas came on late this past season, Hollis Thompson has shown an ability to knock down outside shots and Robert Covington is a solid “3 and D” wing for Philly as well.

The 19-year old Beasley has the most work to do on the defensive end. It’s not that he was poor on this end but he didn’t stand out much either. Being average is okay sometimes, but not when you want to fill one of only 15 spots on an NBA roster. Malik has the quickness and foot speed to turn into a solid defender and now it’s all on him to put forth the effort and fundamentals to make that happen.
