69.
At age 22, Kris Dunn could contribute immediately given the right opportunity. Dunn is a 6-5 guard who flourishes with the ball in his hands. The New Orleans Pelicans were ravaged by injury last season as both Tyreke Evans and Jrue Holiday had their seasons ended by injuries.

The Pelicans gave up the sixth most points per game (102.7), so Dunn’s defensive strengths will come into play as he’s a pick-pocket with above average on-ball defense. Dunn’s 3-point shooting improved in each of his three seasons at Providence and last season he shot 37.2 percent from deep. There is concern over his carelessness with the ball after he averaged 3.5 turnovers a game and an 18.79 percent turnover rate. While those aren’t great figures, Dunn finished in the top 5 in assist rate for all of Division I hoops his last two seasons , which shows his willingness to get teammates involved.

His scoring abilities will catch the eye of the Pelicans brass, but unless he values possessions, it could be difficult to play him at the lead guard spot early on in his NBA career. He’s not yet a deadly enough shooter to rely on off the ball, but he has a strong foundation of skills on which to build.

To read more about Kris Dunn, <a href=. PG. Providence.
