player. 73.
Timothe Luwawu is my spirit animal in this year’s draft. First, he rocks the hell out of the pink Mega Leks jerseys, and second, his explosion in transition is a joy forever — my man John Keats said that! He’s 20 years old and stands 6-7 with a monstrous 6-11 wingspan; I know, I know, wingspan is Jay Bilas’ muse but in Luwawu’s case it’s not just for show.

Luwawu is a prototypical “3 and D” type of player, and while the D is miles ahead of the 3 in the early going, he’s got plenty of time to grow and develop in Denver if they nab him. The wiry wing averaged almost two steals for Mega Leks this past season, showing that he can use his immense wingspan to his benefit. His outside shot did improve this past season in the Adriatic League as he was able to tally a mark of 37.2 percent on the season. Luwawu is this year’s Mario Hezonja in the sense that he’s a fan favorite with tremendous athleticism and intriguing highlights from afar.

There’s clearly work to be done here, which is the case for pretty much all 20-year-olds coming into the NBA, but the Nuggets could hit a Giannis Antetokounmpo-like home run with an early gamble on this sharp, budding Frenchman.
