NBA Playoffs: Raptors advance, fans react on Twitter
Twitter reaction to the Raptors advancing to their first ever Eastern Conference Finals in the 2016 NBA Playoffs
The Toronto Raptors entered the 2016 NBA Playoffs with baggage upon baggage when it comes to the postseason. The Raptors had never won a seven-game playoff series and hadn’t been out of the first round in over a decade. After a win in Game 7 against the Miami Heat in the East semis on Sunday, though, the Raptors aren’t just out of Round 1, but are headed to their first ever Eastern Conference Finals.
It’s truly been a magical run for the Raptors to this point. Even with one of their most important players in center Jonas Valanciunas going down with an injury early in the series, Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan stepped up to make up for that and carried them to victory.
After such a big win in Game 7 and advancing to the East Finals, there was obviously a lot to consider. Not only is it a great moment for the Raptors and Raptors fans, but also they now face a juggernaut in the Cleveland Cavaliers in the next round. With all of this, fans had plenty to say on social media, Twitter in particular.
Let’s take a look at what the people of Twitter had to say about the Raptors moving on to the Eastern Conference Finals:

Magnifique is certainly one way to go about what the Raptors have done to this point. However, there’s no getting around the fact that the Cavaliers in the next round are a totally different beast altogether.
