2. Chicago Bulls (No. 14)

This is the first time since 2008 that the Chicago Bulls have a lottery pick, and it happens to be the last one. No. 14 overall is nothing to write home about, and that’s exactly why they need to trade up to add another solid piece to an already talented roster.

The last time Chicago had a lottery pick, it selected No. 1 overall in 2008 and picked Derrick Rose who eventually won the MVP award before his slew of unfortunate injuries.

Chicago missed the playoffs for the first time since the 2007-08 season and young first-year head coach Fred Hoiberg will need to add some pieces in the draft, but No. 14 may be a little low to add someone to complement Jimmy Butler.

Rose will probably still be on the roster, barring major changes, but no one can trust his health. Another guard would be a decent idea, especially since Chicago selected Bobby Portis, who has a bright future, to play in the post last year.

Joakim Noah and Pau Gasol are aging, too, though, and there are plenty of top-notch big men available.

Heck, adding a guy like Kris Dunn or Buddy Hield in the top 10 would also be something to consider.

Either way, the Bulls should be trading up in June’s draft.
