No. 8 – Georgia Tech vs. Boston College in Dublin, Ireland (Saturday, September 3rd at 7:30 AM on ESPN2)

It isn’t a national title game preview (or even one of the ACC crown), but it’s maybe the best one when it comes to the intangible of being able to say to your significant other “Yes, I can watch a football game at seven in the morning.”

It will be the second college football game in the first week of the season to be played outside the United States, as Cal will take on Hawaii the week before from Australia. In recent years, games in Ireland have included a classic rivalry (Notre Dame vs. Navy) and a classic finish (Penn State vs. Central Florida).

For the Eagles, the goal will be to actually win a football game within the ACC for the first time since the 2014 season; Boston College had their chances to win more than three games last year (including trailing FSU by just a touchdown late in the fourth quarter). For the Yellow Jackets, any chance of winning the Coastal Division will require a opening weekend win to get thing started in the right direction.
