Ranking the 10 best ESPN college football games on 2016 opening weekend

No. 6 – Clemson at Auburn (Saturday, September 3rd at 9 PM on ESPN)
Last year, the Clemson Tigers were within a couple plays from being the national champions of college football as they came up just short in the title game against another team from the state of Alabama. At the same time, the Auburn Tigers were celebrating a Birmingham Bowl win and figuring out what went wrong during the 2015 season.
For Clemson, the man with the plan is quarterback Deshaun Watson. It is hard to believe that Watson will be just a junior this season, but the Tigers’ signal caller enters the 2016 season as the Heisman Trophy favorite and likely the best player in all of college football. Watson will be expected to do more this season as Clemson will be replacing plenty of talent on defense and will need their offense to score even more.
At the same time, Auburn is figuring out who their quarterback will be for the 2016 season and if they can compete with schools like Alabama, LSU and Ole Miss in the SEC West this year. A win over one team considered to be a national title favorite would be a great start to the rebuilding.
