Joel Embiid went crazy on Twitter after the Sixers won the NBA Lottery to get the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft

There was so much buzz leading up to the NBA Lottery on Tuesday night with so much on the line for so many teams in the 2016 NBA Draft. Everyone wanted to see if the Los Angeles Lakers would keep their pick, if the Boston Celtics could luck into the top pick, and if the Philadelphia 76ers would once again not get the top selection.

After the dust had settled from the picking of Ping Pong balls on Tuesday night, though, the Sixers had ultimately beat the curse as, after having the worst record in the league last season, won the No. 1 overall pick.

As such, the Sixers’ first-round pick from the 2014 NBA Draft in Joel Embiid was quite hype about the big win for the franchise and let everyone know about it on Twitter:

After that bit of celebration, Embiid also said that he’d be joining the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft on the floor for the Sixers next season:

In the wake of the events earlier in the day with former Sixers big man and NBA legend Dikember Mutombo prematurely congratulating Philly on winning the lottery, Embiid also gave the master of the finger-wag his due:

Dikembe was most definitely correct in his “prediction” and it’s safe to say that Embiid and the rest of the team are thrilled about it.

Update:

He wasn’t done there:

Thank Shirley Temple, Sixers fans (apparently).
