The Indiana Pacers made a wise choice with their No. 11 overall selection in the 2015 NBA Draft and expect them to make the same choice in taking center Myles Turner out of the University of Texas in this re-draft.

Besides getting Paul George back at full strength in 2015-16, part of the reason the Pacers were able to offset the big losses of Roy Hibbert and David West in NBA free agency was the great play from the rookie Turner in the front court.

Indiana made a questionable decision to go all-in on the small ball era of the NBA, sometimes playing the small forward George at the stretch four. While Ian Mahinmi did fine in his first year as a starting center, it was the surprisingly strong contributions that Turner displayed as a rookie that made this drastic style overhaul not so incredibly daunting.

With Turner in the starting front court for the Pacers going forward, their next head coach replacing Frank Vogel will have the luxury of a fine, young big man in Turner that can definitely continue to succeed in the pace and space of the NBA.
