PF. Marquette. Henry Ellenson . 13. player. 66.
Phoenix is in need of a new power forward now that Markieff Morris is in Washington, so Marquette’s Henry Ellenson is the play here.

At 6-11.5 with a 7-2.25 wingspan, Ellenson has excellent size to play the power forward spot in the NBA. He is best known for his offensive abilities, including his face up game and outside shooting. Ellenson is solid off the dribble, but his lack of athleticism shows up when he attempts to finish at the rim. He also shot just 28.8 percent from deep as a freshman, but the bet is that the low percentage was an anomaly brought on by the college basketball season’s small sample size of games.

Comparisons to Kevin Love have done a bit of a disservice to Ellenson who is not as talented as the Cavaliers’ forward, but he certainly has the potential to develop into a solid rotation big man who can help space the floor. Ellenson is also a potentially valuable asset because of his work on the defensive boards. As a freshman, he collected 11.6 rebounds per 40 minutes and posted a defensive rebound rate of 24.2 percent.

Ellenson isn’t a sexy pick because it’s not clear how high of a ceiling he actually possesses, but he has a quality set of tools that can make him into a solid role player for many years at the next level.

To read more about Henry Ellenson, <a href=
