PG. Washington. Dejounte Murray . 24. player. 93.
At some point, Philadelphia is going to have to add some guards to their cadre of big men. 6-5 guard Dejounte Murray is another high upside prospect who thrived in Washington’s up-tempo system under head coach Lorenzo Romar. As a freshman, he averaged 19.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per 40 minutes while spending time at both guard positions for the Huskies.

Murray is at his best in transition where he displays good court vision and the ability to attack in the paint. In particular, he regularly goes to a floater off of one or two feet in order to deal with the length of opposing bigs and he has a number of dribble moves available to create space to get the shot off.

To be successful at the next level, Murray will need to work on developing his jump shot. He attempted just 118 three-pointers during his lone college season and made only 28.8 percent of them. He lacks a consistent release and regularly fails to get sufficient arc on his shot. However, he is still just 19-years old and will have plenty of opportunities to improve his jumper in the next few years.

Defensively, Murray has the tools to be a pesky perimeter defender. He has a 6-10 wingspan and moves well, but has a habit of falling asleep off the ball. If he can play with consistent attention on that end of the floor, Murray will have a chance to be a versatile perimeter defender in the NBA.
