26. player. 93.
Shooting guard Isaia Cordinier is an excellent draft-and-stash candidate late in the first round. He currently plays in the French Pro B League for Denain and is just 19-years old. It would make sense for him to spend another season overseas, likely signing with a more competitive club to battle against better competition before coming over to the United States.

Cordinier is an intriguing prospect because of his athleticism and outside shooting potential. Teams were able to see him do battle against some of the best players in the 2017 draft class at the Nike Hoop Summit and the results were rather mixed. Cordinier had a few nice drives to the basket when he was able to pick up a head of steam and attack in a straight line, but the 6-5 guard struggled to create separation when tasked with beating the lengthy Team USA defenders off the dribble. At this point, he’s going to be much better when teammates are creating shots for him. He’s a solid catch-and-shoot three-point option, having made 41.1 percent of his three-point attempts for Denain this year. He can more easily attack close outs off of rotations when he’s not asked to beat defenders one-on-one.

Defensively, Cordinier moves well, but his 177 pound frame isn’t ready to compete against the larger opponents he’ll face in the United States. He does have decent length (6-8 wingspan), though, and should be able to become a solid defender once he builds up his strength. Ultimately, he’s a few seasons away from competing in the NBA, but the talent is there to make him a worthy selection late in the first round.

To read more about Isaia Cordinier, <a href=.
