PG. Providence. Kris Dunn . 6. player. 69.
The future of the back court in New Orleans is uncertain. Point guard Jrue Holiday, in particular, is only under contract for one more year and has dealt with injuries for the past few seasons.

Providence’s Kris Dunn is an experienced point guard with the physical size to compete against NBA quality competition. At 22-years old, he is 6-4 and 205 pounds with a nearly 6-10 wingspan. His length, mature build, and general willingness to defend will be valuable to NBA teams. His size should give him the ability to play both guard positions if necessary, but Dunn is at his best with the ball in his hands creating shots for himself or his teammates.

As a junior, he posted one of college basketball’s best assist rates (41.8 percent) while averaging 7.6 assists per 40 minutes. The two biggest knocks on Dunn are his high turnover rate (18.8 percent) and his lack of an outside shot. The hope is that his decision-making skills improve as he plays on a team with NBA quality peers where he won’t be the only shot creator on his team. His outside jumper is certainly questionable. Dunn made 35.4 percent of his three-point attempts in college, but attempted just 2.7 threes per 40 minutes. Still, we’re not talking about Marcus Smart levels of futility from outside with Dunn. He likely won’t ever be a great shooter, but his distribution and skills as a defender make him the most impressive point guard in the class.

To read more about Kris Dunn, <a href=
