4. With Hawks For package centered on Dennis Schroder

If you’ll harken back to the 2016 NBA Trade Deadline, the Philadelphia 76ers made a hard run at trying to lure Dennis Schroder away from the Atlanta Hawks. In fact, the late reports from the deal that was being discussed was that the Sixers were willing to offer a first-round pick in the NBA Draft, Ish Smith, and Nik Stauskas for Schroder. Obviously that trade fell through, but it shows just how much Philadelphia values Schroder and wants him on their roster.

As the Hawks could potentially be entering a sort of transitional phase this offseason as Al Horford could potentially leave when he becomes an unrestricted free agent, they could be willing to really shake things ups and being willing to actually deal Schroder would be one way of going about that.

Schroder is obviously a talented prospect that showed at the end of the regular season and in the playoffs that he’s really coming into his own. However, if the Hawks have the chance to trade him to the 76ers in a deal that lands them the No. 1 pick they have to consider it. Meanwhile, Philly could get a player they want and other assets as well to make the deal happen. It’s wins all around in this deal, which is what makes it so enticing of an option.
