14. Charlotte Hornets

Though the Charlotte Hornets were one of the better stories in the Eastern Conference this past regular season, they are facing an odd offseason. Al Jefferson, Nicolas Batum, and Marvin Williams all are entering free agency this offseason in addition to other key pieces. Though they could re-sign some players, there’s a chance they take a slight step back and miss out on the postseason.

13. Houston Rockets

An argument could be made that the likely departure of Dwight Howard this offseason would ultimately help the Houston Rockets and their chemistry. However, I think problems will still persist and that they’ll miss out on the playoffs once again.

12. Milwaukee Bucks

You have to expect that the Milwaukee Bucks are going to improve off of last season with Giannis Antetokounmpo getting more experience and their core having more time together. Even still, I’m not sure it’s good enough to make it into the postseason.

11. Dallas Mavericks

Especially from the start of last season, you could make the argument that the Dallas Mavericks played over their heads in a major way. With another year under the belt of their veterans, though, things may not be able to get to that level once again and they could wind up on the outside looking in of the playoffs.

10. Chicago Bulls

This might ruffle some feathers, but the Chicago Bulls seem to be at a period of turmoil in the franchise. There are rumors of trades, unrest between players and the head coach, and then guys like Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah potentially leaving as well. It seems like a bad scene in Chi-Town, so I’ve got them back in the lottery.
